About Wintjiri Wiru
Wintjiri Wiru is a world-first cultural storytelling experience at Uluru, created in collaboration with Anangu from Kaltukatjara and Mutitjulu.
As darkness falls over the desert, a chapter of the ancestral Mala story comes to life in the night sky through choreographed drones, lasers, light and sound. It's a breathtaking celebration of Anangu culture, Country and storytelling.
A New Way to Experience an Ancient Story

Against the backdrop of Uluru, 1,200 drones illuminate the sky as lasers, light and sound bring a chapter of the Mala story to life.
Created with guidance from Anangu, every element has been carefully considered to ensure the story is shared with respect and authenticity.
More Than a Show
A Wintjiri Wiru evening begins long before the first drone takes flight.
Guests can enjoy drinks, canapés or a gourmet dining experience inspired by native Australian ingredients and Indigenous bush foods, creating a deeper connection to the landscapes and stories of the Red Centre.
Years in the Making
Wintjiri Wiru is the result of years of collaboration between Anangu, Ayers Rock Resort and creative technology specialists RAMUS.
The Wintjiri Wiru Working Group played a central role in guiding how the Mala story, language and cultural knowledge would be shared. Together, they helped create an experience that honours Anangu culture while embracing innovative new forms of storytelling.
