You are on Anangu Land

Welcome to our Country. We have cared for Country for thousands of years. We invite you to respect our Ngura (Country), Walytja (Family), Wangka (Language), Tjukurpa (Stories, Law and Customs), and Inma (Songs and Ceremonies).

Ngura (Country)

This is Yankunytjatara Pitjantjatjara land. Our Country is sacred; walk slowly to listen, learn and experience our Country. Stay on marked tracks and do not remove rocks, plants, or sand from the landscape.

Walytja (Family)

Our families have a spiritual connection to this Country. Support our families by visiting our Lawn Gallery, Gallery of Central Australia (GoCA), and art centres based at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Cultural Centre. Respect our privacy; please don't take photos without our permission.

Wangka (Language)

Our language holds our culture. For most of us, Yankunytjatjara and Pitjantjatjara are our first languages. You will hear us speaking our language around the Resort. Take time to learn some words and say 'Palya', meaning 'hello', 'welcome', 'good', and 'thank you'.

Tjukurpa (Stories, Law and Customs)

We have many stories, and we want you to learn and understand some of our stories. Take time to learn our stories around Uluru and experience our stories at Wintjiri Wiru and Sunrise Journeys.

Inma (Songs and Ceremonies)

Our culture is a living culture - we still sing our songs and practice our ceremonies. Experience our songs at Wintjiri Wiru, at the start of the Mala Walk at Uluru, and at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Cultural Centre.
