Ayers Rock Resort Airport
Fly direct to the heart of Australia ...
You can fly daily from Perth, Sydney, Cairns and Alice Springs direct to Ayers Rock Airport. Flights from Darwin, Brisbane and Melbourne connect from Alice Springs through to Ayers Rock Airport. Or alternatively you can fly to Alice Springs and then fly onto Ayers Rock Airport. This route offers more flight options and at times is more affordable through Qantas or Tiger Airways.

From Monday 2 August, Virgin Blue will begin daily direct flights from Sydney to Ayers Rock. Connecting flights will also be available from a number of other cities including Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Canberra, Melbourne and Perth. Ayers Rock Airport is conveniently located just six kilometres from Voyages Ayers Rock Resort (10 minutes travel). The airport services both fixed and rotary winged aircraft and receives up to on average 350,000 - 400,000 commercial passengers per year. It's also a popular stopping off point for private pilots and passengers travelling in their own aircraft.
From Ayers Rock Airport, you can enjoy scenic desert flights over Uluru and Kata Tjuta. You will find hire car companies, tour desks, a Qantas desk, Ayers Rock Design retail outlet, and an information desk at the airport.
Airport Transfers
Complimentary return coach transfers from Ayers Rock Airport to Voyages Ayers Rock Resort meet every scheduled flight. The return transfer to Ayers Rock Resort Airport collects you from your hotel approximately 2 hours prior to flight departure please check with reception for exact time.
Self Drive
There is no better way to explore Central Australia than at your own pace. All major national car hire companies operate out of Alice Springs. Avis, Hertz and Thrifty car rentals are also available at Ayers Rock Resort. You can choose from a range of vehicles including 4WD and standard Sedan options. Pre-booking of hire cars is recommended.
Flying into Alice Springs and hiring a car to drive to Ayers Rock Resort is a great option for families and groups of friends, and is often more affordable. Alice Springs to Ayers Rock Resort is 450km, approximately 4.5 hours drive on sealed roads. Hire car prices start from $66 a day. Please refer to the Car Hire page for more information.
There is also the option of driving via Kings Canyon, and you will pass some incredible sites along the way including Standley Chasm, Ellery Creek and Ormiston Gorge. For 4WD enthusiasts, the Mereenie Loop Road (partly unsealed) brings you right out near the Canyon, and connects to Luritja Road which will take you back down to the Lasseter Highway and on to Ayers Rock Resort. This option will require you to overnight along the way.
Alice Springs to Kings Canyon 337km (unsealed for 197km), approx. 4 hour drive.
Kings Canyon to Uluru 306km - 3.5 hour drive to Ayers Rock Resort (sealed road).

Coach Transfers
Coach transfers are available and operate services between Alice Springs, Kings Canyon, and Ayers Rock Resort. Travel by luxury air-conditioned coach through beautiful desert landscapes and interesting scenery. Your driver or guide will provide comprehensive commentary as you pass through the beautiful rugged scenery of the outback. Coach bookings can be made through Voyages.

The Ghan
