GETTING THERE AND GETTING AROUND

Both Qantas and Virgin Australia fly directly into Ayers Rock (Conellan) Airport from Sydney, and both airlines offer connecting flights from most capital cities to Ayers Rock Airport.

A complementary coach transfer service operates between the Resort and Ayers Rock Airport.

Self drive is also a popular option with the drive from Alice Springs to Ayers Rock Resort taking approximately 3.5 hours.

Car Hire

Uluru Express Shuttle
Uluru Express operate a speedy, low cost shuttle service to Uluru, Kata Tjuta and the Uluru Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre which run daily from sunrise to sunset. Transfers from as little as $45 return per adult and $30 return per child.

Located near the Desert Gardens Hotel, the centre provides information on local history, geology, flora, fauna and Aboriginal culture. Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre

Located within the National Park, the centre will introduce you to Anangu Culture in a very special cultural and natural environment. Learn about Tjukurpa, the traditional law guiding the local Anangu people. On most week days, Anangu guides display traditional art, craft, bush foods and bush skills in the courtyard.

Playground & Giant Chess Set

The recently added outdoor playground and giant chess set is fun for a relaxing afternoon. Located at Ayers Rock Resort Campground it is a short stroll or shuttle bus from all hotels.

Bush Yarns at the Circle of Sand

Join Indigenous storytellers as they share stories about Aboriginal history, culture and traditional techniques used on the land. Learn about the Indigenous man's "survival kit" including weapons such as hunting spears, boomerangs and spear throwers.

National Park Ranger Guided Walk

Free Ranger guided walks run daily from the Base of Uluru. Guided along a shaded track, the Rangers tell the story of the Mala (rufous hare wallaby) Tjukurpa, and describe the history and traditions associated with Uluru, including traditional and contemporary Anangu life and culture, rock art, and the management of the park.

This two hour sunset camel tour will have the whole family captivated. Once aboard their camel your children will discover the outback as it turns from day to dusk, see nocturnal creatures come out of the burrows for the evening and best of all experience the sun setting over Uluru. More >>

Suitable for children 5 years and over.
Watch the magical sight of the sun rise over Uluru. As the sun rises, sit around the camp fire and learn about aboriginal men's and women's tools. You'll even get to learn how to use them and have a go.

Sounds of Silence

Hopping on a bus outside your resort you are taken to a secret location where you will see the sunset over Uluru. Your evening meal is a buffet feast of Australian cuisine such as crocodile, kangaroo steaks and emu sausages.

Kata Tjuta & Uluru Sunset Tour

Suitable for children 5 years and over.
Travel to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta. On the way, stop at a lookout for a panoramic view of the southern side of Kata Tjuta. Continue on before arriving at the base of Walpa Gorge. Spend some time exploring the gorge and the unusual conglomerate rock formations. Witness and photograph the striking colour changes of Uluru at sunset while enjoying nibbles and a complimentary glass of wine or soft drink. More >>

SELF GUIDED WALKS

Garden Walks

Learn about the native flora as you roam the Resort gardens. Discover how the plants have survived the desert climate and appreciate its' associations with the local Indigenous people. Walking guides and maps have been created by a local Indigenous tour guide and a team of Resort garden experts.

Liru Walk

This walk will take you from the Cultural Centre to the base of Uluru. The track winds through stands of wanari (mulga) and after rain, often displays colourful flowers.
4 km return | 1.5 hrs

Mala Walk & Kantju Gorge

There are many fine examples of Anangu rock art along this walk, and you can experience the sheer vertical walls and profound peacefulness of Kantju Gorge.
4 km return from Mala or Kuniya carparks | 1.5 hrs

Kuniya Walk

Visitors can walk the short track to Mutitjulu waterhole, home of a wanampi, an ancestral watersnake. In the special times of rain, experience the magical waterfalls, while in the warmer months watch for noisy finches and Australian hobbies rocketing through the serene landscape to catch small birds.

*3-Night Family Uluru Discovery Rate is valid for new bookings made until 28 June 2013 and for travel 1 April 2013 - 30 June 2013. A minimum 3 night stay per room applies, on early check out the regular Nightly Rate will be charged. Includes daily buffet breakfast at the respective hotels breakfast outlet unless otherwise stated. Quote TSC at time of booking.

^Children 12 years and under stay free when using existing bedding. Extra person rate applies for a rollaway bed. When only one adult is travelling with children, the room rate for One Person will apply to the booking.
