Ayers Rock Resort
Tours & Activities at Alice Springs
The Red Centre is the heart of Australia and at its core is the town of Alice Springs. Alice Springs is almost at the geographical centre of Australia. Colloquially called "The Alice" it is located 332km from Ayers Rock (Uluru).
East and west of "The Alice" are the ancient MacDonnell Ranges stretching out for 223 kilometres on both sides of Alice Springs and provide beautiful scenery for bush walking, camping and four-wheel-driving. Head southwest and take in Watarrka National Park. The Park covers 71,000 hectares and is home to Kings Canyon part of the rugged George Gill Ranges.
Alice Springs is rich in heritage and historical sights and has a wealth of touring experiences to offer. From Hot Air Ballooning at sunrise, touring the magnificent McDonnell Ranges, to visiting the famous Alice Springs Desert Park (encompassing one of the world's largest nocturnal houses), Anzac Hill, the Telegraph Station and the Old Ghan Train. Glimpse the Outback lifestyle by visiting the Royal Flying Doctor Service and School of the Air.
